The most common tests
Based on the medical information provided by your doctor, we may recommend the following tests during your first consultation.
For you and your partner
Physical examination: This examination carried out by a doctor allows your general state of health to be assessed.
Blood tests: Blood samples are taken to check your hormone levels, to test for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including syphilis, hepatitis A, B and C, and HIV, and to see if you are immune to rubella.
For females
PAP test: During this test, a sample of cells from the cervix is taken to screen for uterine or cervical cancer.
Chlamydia and gonorrhea culture: These tests can be done by self-collection of vaginal samples or analyzed in urine, depending on the type of service offered at a collection center.
Hysterosonography: This ultrasound exam examines your ovaries, fallopian tubes, and endometrium.
For male persons
Spermogram: This first examination allows us to evaluate the quantity, concentration, movement and appearance of the sperm.
Sperm DNA fragmentation: Allows the proportion of sperm in which the DNA is fragmented to be measured, using fluorescence technology.
