PRESERVATION
OF FERTILITY
FOR MEDICAL REASONS

Cryopreservation is a solution to consider if you are preparing to undergo medical treatments that may impact fertility, such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or gender affirmation procedures. Fertility preservation allows you to freeze your eggs, sperm, or embryos to use them to start or expand your family at a later date.

Egg freezing

Egg freezing involves retrieving eggs and freezing them for future use. It is commonly used before any fertility-related procedures, such as ovarian surgery or chemotherapy. You may also choose to have elective egg freezing for personal reasons, to preserve your fertility for the purpose of starting or expanding your family in the future.

Sperm Cryopreservation

Men and male individuals may choose to freeze their sperm to address potential fertility issues. We also recommend sperm freezing for individuals who wish to begin an IVF+/ICSI process but are unavailable to provide a sperm sample on the day of egg retrieval or whose sperm count (or that of their partner) is low.

Cryopreserved sperm can usually be preserved for several years. Contact us to learn more.

Embryo preservation

This is a practice that involves selecting quality embryos and then freezing them in order to increase your chances of conceiving a child when they are later implanted.

This is a possible option, especially for couples or individuals undergoing hormonal treatment, cancer treatment or other medical procedures that may impact fertility.
