Jessica lefebvre

Dr. Lefebvre, originally from Quebec City, completed her preclinical studies and residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Université Laval. She then completed a fellowship program at Université de Montréal, where she obtained the Canadian Diploma in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Currently, she holds the position of Co-Medical Director at the Procrea Clinic while practicing as a gynecologist and associate professor at the CHU de Québec. Her practice focuses primarily on the clinical and surgical management of patients suffering from infertility.

Dr. Marie-Ève Bergeron obtained her doctorate in medicine and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Université Laval. She completed subspecialty training in reproductive medicine and surgery at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. She is co-medical director of the Procrea clinic. She is also medical director of the Centre de procréation assisée du CHU de Québec. She is a clinical researcher at the CHU du Québec Research Centre and an associate clinical professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Université Laval.
Veronique Bellemare

Dr. Bellemare first pursued a path in fundamental research and obtained a Ph.D. in the field of physiology-endocrinology. Subsequently, she pursued medical studies at Université Laval. She then joined and completed the residency program in obstetrics-gynecology at Université Laval. She pursued a medical subspecialization by completing a fellowship in gynecological endocrinology of Reproduction and Infertility at McGill University. In addition to her practice at Procréa, she currently works as an obstetrician-gynecologist at CHUL.

Sarah-Maude B. Laflamme

Dr. Bernatchez-Laflamme first completed her doctorate in medicine at Université Laval, where she then completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 2013. She then continued her training with a sub-specialty in reproductive endocrinology, before joining the team. She currently works as an obstetrician-gynecologist at Hôtel Dieu Hospital in Lévis. Her diversified practice allows her to care for pregnant women, gynecological or infertility problems and family planning patients. In addition, she acts as a clinical lecturer, which leads her to work every day with the medical student community. She strives to offer her patients quality care that is personalized and adapted to their needs.

Amélie graduated from Cégep de St-Foy in 2001 with distinction for her academic performance in nursing. Her professional experience has mainly focused on obstetrics. After working for a few years in a birthing center in Louisiana, she returned to Quebec where she worked in the field of high-risk pregnancies. In 2008, Amélie joined the Procrea team as a nurse. She is the most experienced nurse in the clinic. Her commitment and professionalism earned her a promotion to head nurse in 2022.

Nicola Dean

Director of Laboratories
Working in the field of assisted reproduction since 1988, Dr. Nicola Dean has extensive experience in clinical work and research. Dr. Nicola Dean began her career under the direction of Professor Robert Edwards, the scientific father of the first baby conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF). He even entrusted her with the management of his laboratory in London, England, for several years. During these years, she also contributed to the growth of IVF laboratories in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Italy. In 1996, she moved to Canada after being recruited by McGill University to build and manage the laboratories of the MUHC Reproductive Centre. During her years at the university, she completed her doctoral thesis on the transmission and distribution pattern of genetic diseases in mammals. After completing her doctorate, Dr. Dean conducted clinical work and research to improve techniques and improve the results of assisted reproduction at the MUHC Reproduction Centre and then at the Ovo Clinic. When the Quebec Assisted Reproduction Program was rolled out in 2011, Dr. Dean agreed to participate in the establishment and management of the new CHUM Assisted Reproduction Clinic. After the clinic closed in 2016, she worked at the CHUM Research Centre on a study of the causes of aneuploidy in human oocytes. Since 2018, Dr. Dean has proudly held the position of Director of the Embryology and Andrology Laboratories within the Procrea Fertilité team. She participates in clinical and management activities to ensure the continuous improvement of treatments and their results. She is also a member of the Ethics Committee of The Fertility Partners. Dr. Dean's primary interests include measuring and improving embryo quality, preimplantation genetic diagnosis and the genetic components of infertility, optimizing techniques for serodiscordant couples, and cryobiology. She has contributed to over 50 scientific articles, written book chapters, lectured at several international meetings, taught university students, and served as a reviewer for multiple international scientific journals. She is also a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS).

Katherine Boulay

Katherine is a laboratory coordinator at Procréa Fertilité. She joined the team in 2010 and has over 13 years of specialized experience in the field of in vitro fertilization (IVF), as an embryologist. She earned a BSc and MSc degree from the Faculty of Science at Université de Moncton, as well as an MSc degree from Université Laval's Faculty of Medicine. Katherine is also a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS). ''What I find most rewarding about my job is providing valuable assistance to patients in achieving their family project.
Wei Lin Kong

Endocrinologist
Dr. Kong received her degree in Adult Endocrinology and Metabolism from the University of Sherbrooke in 2009. She specializes in fertility disorders and completed additional training on this topic in Lausanne, Switzerland from 2013 to 2014.
Genevieve Patry

Urologist
After obtaining her MD in 2002, Dr. Geneviève Patry undertook a five-year residency in urology at Université Laval, followed by a year of subspecialization in male infertility at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. During her training, Dr. Patry won several awards for her presentations and research projects.
Since 2008, she has practiced a varied field of general urology at the Hôtel-Dieu de Lévis and the Montmagny hospital, in addition to her practice at the Clinique Procréa where she is the only specialist in male infertility for the eastern part of the province. She is renowned for her skills in microsurgery, particularly in reconstruction after a vasectomy (vasovasostomy and vasoepididymostomy), the treatment of varicocele and the various sperm collection techniques (PESA, TESE and micro-TESE).
In addition to her clinical skills, Dr. Patry is also recognized for her ability to explain medical vocabulary in a clear and accessible manner, both to medical students and to her patients, and she stands out for her human approach.

Marie-Claude graduated from Cégep de Rivière-du-Loup in 1996 with a degree in nursing. She has worked primarily in critical care, with a career that took her from Rivière-du-Loup to Montreal, then to Switzerland, and finally to the National Capital Region. In 2008, she joined the Procrea team as a nurse. Her commitment to the clinic and patients, as well as her leadership, led to her promotion to Nursing Coordinator in 2015, and then Clinic Manager in 2016. Marie-Claude discovered a strong interest in administration, which prompted her to continue her studies to obtain a certificate in business administration.

Marlène Castillo, a graduate in Business Administration, started working at Procrea Fertilité in December 2020 as Assistant Clinic Manager, marking the beginning of a new phase in her career in the healthcare field. With her professional commitment, she supervises the customer service team, putting patient satisfaction as a top priority. She deploys her expertise in financial and operational management in collaboration with the clinic manager.

We are proud to share with you that we have obtained our Accreditation Canada 2022 accreditation. The Procrea clinic has been renewing this certification since 2014. This success is an integral part of our clinic's mission, which is to offer quality, safe services that are adapted to the needs of our patients. This result is the result of our constant efforts to improve the delivery of our services. We are committed to continuing our activities to improve the quality of our services.
Laboratory
Our laboratories undergo internal and external quality assurance programs in biochemistry and andrology to evaluate the methods used and ensure the reliability of the analyses performed. The external programs in which we participate are Bio-Rad: External Quality Assurance Services (EQAS), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Oneworld Accuracy (OWA). We also regularly conduct internal technical audits in andrology, biochemistry and embryology to ensure compliance with our standard operating procedures. We work to provide our patients with accurate and optimal results. Procréa holds a permit issued by the LSPQ for clinical biochemistry as well as accreditation from Agrément Canada.
